We got married in 2014 at a place called Stadion, a private home perched above the sea near Finikounda in Messinia.

The owner, Kosta, was one of those rare people who saw possibility where others saw a transaction.

He didn’t just rent us the space.

He opened it to us — gave us generous terms, an open bar, and his trust.

We brought our furniture, our DJ, our people.

The night was magic.

But here’s what made Kosta different.

He saw the potential of that night.

Afterward, he asked if he could use our photos to market his venue as a wedding destination.

We said yes, of course.

He did weddings before but now went on to build an entire business out of it — a successful one.

Because Kosta understood something most don’t: the best opportunities are born out of relationships, not transactions.

Last week I learned that Kosta and his partner were murdered.

It’s hard to even write that.

So this post is for him — in gratitude and remembrance.

For his kindness, his foresight, and his ability to create value through generosity.

He didn’t just host our wedding.

He reminded me — then and now — that in business and in life, the real return comes from connection.
