Listening to this speech and the thunderous applause from all the political parties still gives me goosebumps.
Imaging the shock and fear in Congress that day and the President’s clear vision and rhetoric that inspiried confidence for the war ahead and which ended in the absolute victory goal he set.
Now you have heard from everyone the cliché (although it true) that a clear vision can inspire and lead you to accomplish the goals you set.
This isn’t another article hammering that same point.
No there is another story.
The Japanese gamble that they could win in one blow.
Knock out the US Navy, control the seas and impose their will.
But they missed the US aircraft carriers
And the rest is history..
The US not only did not surrender at the loss of the fleet but rearmed and went on the offensive and never looked back.
And the Japanese surrendered to the United States and lost their empire in China and the rest of Asia that September day in 1945.
Now why are we talking about this besides the Pearl Harbour anniversary?.
Because it shows the fallacy of the magic bullet, the one stop solution that will solve all our problems.
Like many business owners who sink money and time into magic silver bullets, the Japanese bet the house on one attack.
The attack succeeded but it ended up backfiring and costing them almost everything.
Like bringing a spoon to a gun fight they had just one silver bullet tactic to start a war that needed sustained consistent campaigns to be victorious.
Same happens with hiring that guru that promises everything will be different.
Or the AI prompts that will magically double your margins and allow you to grow an 8 figure business with 2 employees and an emotional support dog.
Silver tactics are addictive.
