With a family of four we dropped some serious cash.
And loved it.
And I’d take them back in the future in a heartbeat…. Regardless of the price.
Why? Well here is what we experienced.
We were there for nearly 7 hours in cold (but not too cold) weather – but that London wet and cold feel you know if you lived there.
The children went on too many rides that I cannot recount them properly here.
And the rides weren’t designed to get people on and off as fast as possible. They lasted and you never felt cheated that they cut you short.
As for the meal deal what I expected to be cheap fried kill the children early processed crap turned out to be pizzas that were made from scratch and fresh pasta.
So the meals were excellent. The children were full and happy afterwards.
We went to the Bavarian village to warm up. The beer was expensive but tasted excellent. (in fact the beer was equivalent to what I have to pay in Dubai for Donkey Piss that has been marked up. Some of you know the brands I’m talking about..)
And most importantly the children met up with their first cousins and were able to spend quality time with them and hang out.
The pictures of them together made the day for their mother and grandmother.
So why tell you all these details?
Because Winter Wonderland is expensive but nailed it when it came to experience.
Sure it took a bite out of the wallet, but like I said we will do it again because the experience made the price irrelevant.
And that my friends are both the challenge to pull off and timeless lesson of why we must seek to pull it off to build the business we need for the life we desire.
You see many businesses compete on price and so strip out what would make their experiences invaluable.
They commoditise themselves into irrelevance.
But people will happily pay up for experience.
So if you want to be able to charge more you have to earn it.
But it’s worth it.
And I discuss why and how that looks in greater detail in Fall in Love with your Business Again.
