On Friday, I told you about the real estate guy who skipped an event because “only 5 people” were coming.
He missed out on two perfect introductions.
Here’s the postscript.
At that same event, one guest told me she wanted to meet professional female sports coaches.
I told her upfront—I didn’t know any, and it was unlikely anyone in the room did.
She came anyway.
No one in the room had a direct connection.
Didn’t faze her.
The meeting was one of the best we’ve had.
That evening, I went to a happy hour.
Met a guy I knew through the same network.
Mentioned her ask in passing.
He stopped me cold.
“I can help her. I know several coaches through my daughter’s sports programs.”
Next morning, I made the intro via WhatsApp.
They connected.
Turns out they could collaborate on multiple fronts—plus, introducing her to coaches.
And once again…
It wasn’t about chasing transactions or packing the room.
It was about being in the right rooms with the right people.
Because in the end, real business is about freedom:
The freedom to choose who you work with.
Who you spend your time around.
Who you build something meaningful with.
Does your business give you that?
Or is it just reacting—day after day—to whatever walks through the door?
