35 years ago right before Christmas I was in Berlin.
Table after Table were set up with memorabilia you could buy from the Old East German Regime including military uniforms.
I ended up buying a border guard offer heavy coat.
The coat was amazingly warm (one of the best I ever owned)
But it’s style was old Wehrmacht…i.e. I looked like I just came from Hitler’s Bunker.
So it brought me lots of looks and some shouts when worn in public.
So it stayed in the closet.
A souvenir and nothing more.
Reminds me of businesses that love their products but have no idea how to find the right audience for it.
I was at an investor event last month watching different pitches.
All the pitches were for 7 figures or more
And all fell flat
Because they were talking to investors with money and preaching ROI on their hot idea.
But the investors cared whether these businesses had resilience.
How would they perforn if things went sideways?
None of the guys looking for investment touched on it.
Not one showed how the business would act in different scenarios.
Instead they showed flashy graphs and silly math about how just getting 1% of this huge market was a great opportunity.
Different languages… wrong audiences.
No investment.
No result.
Waste of time for everyone involved.
You work too hard to waste your time.
That is why I put together Fall in Love with your Business Again.
