“That’s How It’s Done Here”
How often have you heard or believed those words?
Perhaps in your industry there is something you follow as if it came from the Lord himself.
One of the advisors at our deep dive session told us about a client of his who thought exactly like this.
“Our customers won’t buy unless we do this,” the client insisted with 100% certainty.
So the advisor challenged him. “Do this one step to align with the personal motivations of your employees and let’s see how true ‘this is how it’s done’ really is.”
Well long story short, it wasn’t true.
To the tune of $2 million in extra cash that went into the owner’s pocket without spending a dime on new customers, marketing, or any other investment.
Just a different outlook. An outlook based on running the business like an asset and not a job.
Now I haven’t spoken to him yet to ask permission to share what he said, so I cannot give you the solution itself.
