Anyone remember the state of online dating in the late 90s early 2000s?

“I like talking moonlight walks on the beach” was apparently the only hobby 300 million men had.

Or

“I like fine wine, dining and curling up with a good book” was a favourite for the millions of people who needed go into the fetal position to read.

In short, it was a bunch of profiles repeating the same boring cliché things and wasting a great deal of time.

Guys wasting their time writing essays which were left mostly unread.

Women wasting their time having to navigate dozens of new messages every day and finding themselves overwhelmed in the process.

It was commoditisation in a nutshell.

And I see it in business all the time.

I had clients come to me who were underselling themselves and pricing what they did at the lowest common denominator because, as they said, their competitors could do it in India (or pick your favourite place) for 10% of the price.

And they were suffering mentally and in their pocketbook.

And now their life is completely different.

They have more time on their hands and they have a business rolling at its highest sales and profits ever.

And it only took a few months to escape the bog they were in.
