Woke up the other morning to a pool of water in the kitchen.

We’d already called our maintenance company the day before—They “fixed” the drain pipe. Until …. They didn’t. The real problem?

A leak in the kitchen sink pipe.

So at 7:30 AM, I grabbed another guy from the same company. He found the issue, shut off the water, took photos, and told the office what was needed. I called to confirm it would be fixed by 3:00 PM.

I called to reconfirm an hour before.

At 3:40, the guy shows up. Late. Carrying a wrench. No parts. No clue what he was supposed to do.

“I’ll be back in 10 minutes…”

An hour later, I call the company. “Yeah… we don’t have the part. We’ll fix it tomorrow.”

Tomorrow?

I’ve got a sink full of dishes, hungry kids, and a full workday behind me.

So I fire them on the spot.

At 4:30, I call a plumber the building security recommends. By 7:00, his guy arrives. By 7:30, the leak is fixed—and the owner himself shows up to check the work.

Guess who gets my business now?

The one-legged greyhound holding a wrench and chasing a rabbit on a string…?

Or

The guy who showed up, fixed the problem, and followed through—

And just like that…

Three years of loyalty—flushed.

Stupidity + Incompetence = Bad Customer Experience Bad Experience = Lost Repeat Business Lost Repeat Business = Declining Revenue + No Referrals Declining Business = Unsellable Asset

And an unsellable asset = no exit, no wealth, no future.

So let me ask you:
