I received a cold email today inviting me to discuss potential investment opportunities.
The sender claimed to have secured investment funding and was looking for opportunities in … well he pretty much listed every type of size and industry out there.
At the bottom was his name and number.
No information on his company.
No links to 3rd parties or anything to check his criteria.
I was feeling generous so I didn’t classify this email as spam but it went right into the bin.
How he presented himself made him a joke
And a great topic to write about today
But it reveals a truth that many of us have to remember.
How we present our businesses to the outside world will go a long way to determining how we are treated and ultimately compensated.
If you’re business is professionally run than you have more freedom and opportunity today and tomorrow than a business that needs you to make the decisions to run.
