“I didn’t like what I had become.  I wasn’t a good father, a good husband or even simply a good person to be around.”

It was a powerful confession.

Scott wasn’t talking about scoring a heroine fix, or rolling the dice, or needing that drink.

He was talking about running his business.

How it became his addiction.

Dinner with the family – Scott was there in body but not in mind.

What emails did he need to send?

What calls would he need to make?

Why was Frank such a moron and should he be fired?

His wife was scared of him when they were in bed.

Not because Scott would hit her or beat her.

But because Scott would dream…. And his dreams were horrifying.

Swearing and shouting in his sleep and it’s always…. always…jolting her awake with the latest curse about sh*t show job he created out of his business.

Now the business was profitable

But it wasn’t what Scott signed up for.

Scott felt he was working hard and making sacrifices to build a great source of wealth and legacy for his family.

But he realised he was losing them in the process.

So Scott made a change.

He stopped lying to himself and now his life is completely different.

The business is expanding and Scott has a much different life than before.

He’s once again a father, husband, and good friend.

And he sleeps soundly at night.

What did he change?

We will unpack that this week.
