“Why do you notice the speck in your brother’s eye but take no notice of the large beam in your own eye?

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye?

You Hypocrite.

First remove the beam from your own eye and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother’s.”

  • Luke 6:41-42

Whenever I work with clients this passage comes to mind.

After all my clients know their businesses better than I do.

I just help them step back and remove the specks themselves so they have the clarity to transform their companies to give them the life they want.

Compare that to the hustle bros.

Many of my clients, and I myself, fell for shiny objects or the promises that told us the transformation is just after this 90 day sprint, or just around this corner.  Etc.

The hustle bros weren’t just gouging our eyes out — they were lifting our wallets while doing it.

We fell for the magic dust.

The Hustle-Grind Porn.

That toxic cocktail of overwork, fake urgency, and sleepless-nights-equals-success BS.

Worn like a badge of honor….we doubled down.

Worked harder. Put in more hours. Played the good little employee in our own business…

Because the payoff had to come eventually, right?

Here’s your newsflash — it doesn’t.

The rewards instead follow the business owners who set up their business to do one thing.

Fail in that one thing and you own a job that no one wants… a highway to burnout and missed opportunities.

Succeed and you gain the control and life you promised yourself when you started the business in the first place.

And obtaining that one thing is what we built the Owners Club around.

This is where we turn “stuck jobs” into real businesses.

Where you learn how to build a company you actually want to wake up to.

And you do it without selling your soul to every shiny object stalking you around the corner.
