David’s hands clenched into fists. “When I find out who’s been stealing from me, I swear—”

Nathan cut him off. “The thief… is you.”

David froze, then exploded. “Bullshit! You think I’m stealing from myself?!”

Nathan didn’t flinch. “Yes. You’re having an affair, David. Not with a person—but with your business. You’re obsessed. You pour every waking moment into her. And because of that, you’re robbing your own family of time, wealth, and freedom.”

David shot out of his chair, knocking the table hard enough to shatter a cup. The café fell into stunned silence. The manager started toward them, but Nathan calmly raised a hand, motioning for David to sit.

Reluctantly, David slumped back into his seat.

“You outsourced customer service to save a few bucks,” Nathan continued, his voice low and intense. “Now, clients are dropping like flies. You stuck with Jack out of loyalty, even though your financials are a disaster. And that biggest client of yours? He’s pimping you out, David. You’ve let him own you—working endless hours on projects no one else will touch. You’re killing the value of your business.”

David sat in stunned silence as Nathan’s words sank in.

“You think you’re running this company, but it’s running you. You’ve built a job, not an asset. If you got hit by a bus tomorrow, what happens to your business? Will it take care of your family without you?”

Nathan leaned in, his gaze piercing. “You’ve already lost five to ten times what you’ve earned from this business. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. You can fix this—but only if you stop this toxic relationship and start building a real business. One that works for you, not the other way around.”

David swallowed hard. “How?”

“You’re going to build systems, streamline operations, and cut the dead weight. No more handholding clients. No more excuses from Finance. And we’re going to rewire how you think about scaling this business—so it becomes a real asset.”

Nathan paused and gave him one last chance. “You can leave now and keep doing what you’ve been doing. Or you can stay, take control, and reclaim your life.”

David stayed seated.

“Good,” Nathan said with a nod. “Now let’s get to work.”

P.S. I’m not the “systems guy”, process guy” or the “finance guy”. I’m the “start living your best life today” guy, helping you grow a business that gives you freedom now and lets you exit on your own terms later.
