4th quarter.
Bears down by 18.
“Can I call them the Greedies?” my daughter Sophia asked about the Green Bay Packers.
“Sure,” I said.
I wasn’t about to derail a 6-year-old mid-football with a lecture on sportsmanship.
The game started at 5am Dubai time.
I turned it on at 7:30, rewound to the beginning, and fast-forwarded through every ad.
Hands sweaty. Eyes locked.
Praying the girls didn’t do anything stupid that would get me scolded by my wife.
First half was a disaster.
Green Bay up 21–3.
I hovered over the “Live” button, tempted to stop wasting time watching my team get destroyed.
But I didn’t.
Why?
Because this season the Bears had already come back six times to win after trailing late.
So I stayed with it.
Fourth quarter.
Down again.
And yet… I expected the comeback.
21–6
21–9
21–16
Then Green Bay scores.
27–16. Six minutes left.
Still didn’t fast-forward.
27–24.
Green Bay driving.
Three minutes left.
They miss the field goal.
“Girls — come watch. This is where the Bears win.”
Fourth down.
Williams scrambles. First down. Still alive.
Two minutes left.
My wife appears:
“When is this sh*t done?”
“It’s an amazing comeback — watch.”
Touchdown.
Bears take the lead.
I throw my arms up.
“There’s still time. The Green Bay QB is very good.”
“Greedies,” Sophia corrected me.
Seven seconds left.
One play.
Love throws a desperation pass.
It hits the turf.
“BEARS WIN!”
Seven times this season.
Down late. Came back. Won.
Now you might be thinking,
Why the hell are you telling me this?
Because of what this season trained into me:
belief.
Not hope.
Not wishing.
Expectation.
That’s what real customer experience does to your market.
When customers know you will deliver…
even when things wobble…they stop shopping.
They stop negotiating.
They stop caring about your competitors’ prices.
They stay.
They buy again.
They tell others.
They smooth out your revenue.
They remove the stress from your business.
And when a buyer or investor asks why your company is worth a premium…
you don’t point to spreadsheets.
You point to your customers.
Your trophies.
And say,
“Let me show you why.”
I don’t know how far the Bears will go this year.
But I do know this:
you never count them out.
Does your business give your customers that same confidence?
