At today’s BX meeting, I spoke about dysfunctional independence — the trap of thinking you’re “free” because you own a business, while your life quietly falls apart around you.

Example:
Tony runs his own company.
But at every family dinner or trip home, he’s glued to his phone.

His kids only see the top of his head.

The hotel business centre knows him better than his wife does.

Even after a Mediterranean holiday, his skin stays pasty.

Tony loves his family — and hates this grind.

But he has no choice.

Because if he steps away, the business crumbles.

Eithis Tony hired the most incompetent team on earth…or (more likely) he’s running his business like an employee, not an owner.

The first step to real independence?

Building a business you can fire yourself from.

What about you?

Can you fire yourself — or is the job you own too demanding?

I’m the
“build real equity in your business” guy—so you can start living your best life now and exit on your own terms later.
