Many business owners pride themselves on being “their own boss.”

It’s a matter of pride to know you went on your own and have been paving a way for yourself – hopefully to a land of milk, honey and opportunity.

So our freedom and independence are very important.

But how good are we at it?

If we “own a business” but have to be involved to keep it alive.. than it’s a business that owns us.

It decides when and how much we work because the thought of it going down the drain is too painful to contemplate.

So we are independent … but in a cruel and dysfunctional way.

Furthermore, when it comes time to exit

If we heavily discount or knock ourselves out of the market than we don’t get paid and rewarded for the sacrifices we made.

Well my friend… that is dysfunctional to the T.
