Michael Buffer’s voice rang in my head this morning as I squared off with my two daughters — both refusing to get dressed.

Socks? A battle.

Shoes? A siege.

Even eating the breakfast they like? Full-blown rebellion.

We finally got them sorted, and just as I started to exhale — my wife turned to me:

“Why are you grabbing their shoes for them? If you do everything, they’ll expect it every time.”

Ouch. Right between the ribs.

She’s right — and I should’ve known better.

Because I say the same thing to my clients.

You know what I’m talking about.

You delegate something in your business.

They’re slow.

They fumble.

They do it wrong.

So what do you do?

You jump back in and do it yourself — because it’s faster.

And just like that, you chain yourself to the job again.

You say you’re building a team.

But really? You’re just creating more people to watch you burn out.

You’ll never get your time back until you break that cycle.

And that means putting up with slower, clumsier, messier work —

While you build the systems and skills that get you free for good.

In Q4, I’ll be leading a live event where we’ll tackle exactly that:

The uncomfortable, high-leverage moves that buy back your time and get your business working without you.

Because you’re not supposed to be the one putting everyone’s shoes on.

Stay tuned.
